New Appointment Allocation System
In response to recent feedback, we have decided to trial a new system of appointment allocation in the surgery. We hope that this will mean more appropriate and timely allocation of appointments with the clinician best placed to deal with your medical problem.
Telephone call-back appointments will be allocated on a first come first served basis each day. Our receptionists will ask you a few questions to determine the urgency of your problem and who is best placed to deal with your request. If you are under the care of a particular clinician, then they will do their best to accommodate this where appropriate, although you may be asked to call back on their next working day. If your problem is urgent, please inform our receptionists and you will be called back by our Emergency Team. If you request a call back from our Emergency Team and the call is not urgent, you may be asked to call back the following day.
Our receptionists will continue to direct you to the most appropriate member of the extended healthcare if this is relevant, such as Community Pharmacy, Specialist Opticians, Mental Health Practitioners and First Contact Musculoskeletal Practitioners.
Please bear with us while we make this change. We are confident it will improve our service to you at this time of unprecedented demand and unparalleled challenges.
COVID Status Certification
• Please do not contact your GP Practice to ask for a Covid vaccination
passport or status certificate – they will not be able to provide any standard
document. International certification standards have not yet been agreed.
• The Scottish Government is working to support the re-opening of international
travel once it is safe to do so. We are working with the other UK Nations with
World Health Organisation to agree on potential future COVID certification
requirements for international travel.
• As part of this, they are developing a technical solution that could allow
people to access their Covid vaccination status directly.
Consultations are by appointment only: 09:00 – 12:00 and 15:30 – 17:00. Extended hours appointments are available for working patients between 08:00 – 09:00 on selected mornings – these are limited and can be requested through our reception staff.
Routine nurse appointments are available every day between 09:00 and 17:00.
Urgent calls and requests are dealt with through our triage system, led by our Advanced Clinical Practitioners Sharon Hamid and Kelly Burns. If you request an urgent appointment you will be called back by our triage team and an appointment may be allocated, your issue dealt with over the telephone or you may be directed to an appropriate allied health professional.
Phlebotomy clinics run Mon, Wed & Fri 09:00 – 13:00, Thurs 08:00 – 13:00.
